Roles & Responsibilities -
- Design and develop custom jigs, fixtures and automation tools for manufacturing assembly and inspection.
- Create 3D models, 2D detailed drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD.
- Ensure all designs adhere to GD&T, ISO standards, and DFM/DFA principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, tooling, and automation) to gather requirements and resolve design challenges.
- Apply 3D printing and CNC knowledge for rapid prototyping and fixture manufacturing validation.
- Drive continuous improvement in fixture performance, ergonomics, cost, and lead time.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and assist with fixture commissioning at the shopfloor.
- Document design changes, maintain project records, and support ISO audit readiness.
- Provide technical support during fixture trials, debugging, and final implementation.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in jig & fixture design, preferably in automation, EMS, or medical/aerospace sectors.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and basic working knowledge of Creo 8.0.
- Hands-on experience with GD&T, part detailing, BOM, and ISO documentation.
- Familiarity with 3D printing (FDM/SLA) and CNC machining principles for prototype and tool validation.
- Good understanding of design validation tools like CMM and VMS.
- Practical knowledge of sheet metal, welding, pneumatic elements, and motion mechanisms.
